Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, often referred to as Al Rayyan Stadium, stands as a prominent landmark in Al Rayyan Municipality, Qatar, acting as a gateway to the country’s captivating desert landscapes. Inaugurated on Qatar National Day in December 2020, this state-of-the-art venue was meticulously designed for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. Its distinctive glowing facade incorporates traditional Qatari patterns, known as “Naquish,” symbolizing core cultural elements such as family values, the desert’s beauty, local flora and fauna, and international trade, all unified by a shield motif representing strength and unity. Built with a strong emphasis on sustainability, the stadium incorporated over 90% of recycled materials from the original stadium that previously occupied the site, and features advanced cooling technologies to ensure optimal comfort for spectators and players alike. Beyond its role in major international tournaments, Ahmed bin Ali Stadium serves as the esteemed home ground for Al Rayyan Sports Club, offering a vibrant community hub with surrounding green spaces, walking trails, and various sporting facilities.
